The record-high interest in ESOF2024 participation is reflected in the rich offer of the conference programme. Within the three days of ESOF, you can enjoy over 100 sessions featuring more than 400 speakers. The most bustling of the six thematic areas will be the area in Changes Within Scientific Excellence, with 29 sessions, including 3 series of related speeches. The area in Sustainable Environment will feature 17 sessions, whereas the areas in Cultural Identity and Societal Transformation, and Healthy Society will feature 13 sessions each. Additionally, the ESOF programme will feature 6 plenary sessions and 7 keynote speech sessions with outstanding scientists invited to take part in the debate as keynote speakers. The registration for ESOF2024 is now open. The conference is open to anyone interested in attending the most important scientific event in 2024. A special invitation is extended to the people of Katowice and Silesia, the place where this unique open debate is taking place, and to those who contribute towards not only its uniqueness but also its present and future prospects. The invitation to ESOF2024 is also extended to all those from outside Silesia, Poland, and Europe who want to be at the heart of the debate stretching beyond science, that is, where Life changes science. A person associated with the region, committed to its benefit and sincerely devoted to its tradition and culture encourages you to participate in the conference taking place in Silesia. Dariusz Niebudek – a Silesian actor and director, known for many unique roles and productions, invites you to ESOF2024 in Silesian. It is a language used here on a daily basis by over half a million Silesians. Dariusz Niebudek is one of the most popular actors in Silesia. Director, moderator, comedian, vocalist. Winner of many prestigious awards, including Golden Mask for the roles of Max Białystok and Roger de Bill in the musical Producers directed by Michał Znaniecki, Hanys 2011 awarded by the RAK cabaret for promoting the culture and traditions of Silesia, as well as the Award of the Mayor of Chorzów in the Field of Culture.  Present on stage for over 30 years. He has performed in nearly 100 theatre premieres, including both dramatic and musical roles, and even opera and operetta parts.

During the application period planned by the organisers, a total of approximately 450 complete applications were received, 70% of which included oral presentations by speakers. The remaining 30% are poster presentations. ESOF2024 will go down in the history of the conference as a year with an impressive number of registered applications. The most applications were received in the following thematic areas: Sustainable Environment, Changes Within Scientific Excellence, and Healthy Societies.  Immediately after closing the registration stage, all abstracts were submitted to expert teams appointed for substantive assessment. Each team consists of specialists from the academic community. The assessment of applications, apart from the substantive value of the abstracts, also takes into account the scientific diversity and international nature of the conference. The information regarding the qualification of a given abstract for the ESOF2024 programme will be sent to the authors in the second half of April.

All the institutions are preparing special offers to provide some insight into the cultural, geographical, architectural, and culinary heritage of this unique part of the world for the duration of the conference.
